I started producing at 15 with a cracked copy of FL Studio and a refusal to sound like the radio. Over a decade later, that same stubbornness is the thing artists keep coming back for.
My background spans from Jazz Theory to Southern Trap and everything in between with almost nothing being untouched in my sound kit library. I create beats as an emotion. Once I figured out how to get a '97 Macintosh Desktop computer up and running in the year 2008, it was over. I knew I had a gift, to figure things out when it seemed impossible. I didn't have the best technology or latest high tech equipment when I started out. I still managed to build my beats uniquely by using modifiers and modulators on generic sounds for my drums, percussion, and melodies. And I haven't broken out of that habit since.
I'm an up-and-coming producer still building my catalog and my name — but I care about the long game, not the quick flip. Every artist I work with gets treated like a relationship, not a transaction. One of my beats was used as background music in an XXL promo interview.
I believe especially in this era of AI, artists should really make an effort to stand out and be firm and innovative in creating original music — because God has gifted you with the voice and passion. The message is always more important. I have spoken life over every beat I've created. I've made it a point to educate the artists I work with on the business side of music — licensing, ownership, and why holding onto your masters and your publishing matters.
